The Raspberry
Rubus idaeus,
a plant species in the rose family. One-meter (3') tall half-bushes with white flowers and red, or occasionally yellow, fruit. The fruit is a combination of stone fruits. In Norway they are common in forests and in rocky areas as far north as Troms and
Porsanger. Garden raspberries have larger berries than the wild variety, and descend from the type that has been cultivated since the middle ages. The most typical varieties in Norway are Asker, Preussen, and Lloyd George.
